Fall Leaf Craft

Fall Leaf Craft

The first thing we did was go for a long hike, picking out leaves and things to put in our piece.

You will need 2 pieces of wax paper, and two pieces of construction paper (for the frame), crayons (and a knife to chip off the crayons chunks onto the leaves, various leaves/ferns/feathers, an iron, a stapler, and a towel.

We picked green construction paper as our frame

This is my page--I found a turkey feather to add to my leaves.  I put a lot of chunks of crayons on top of my assortment.  The crayons act a bit like glue, holding all the leaves in place.

This is Dd's page--she was more careful how she placed each thing.

After I put down my leaves, and chunks of crayon, then I put a top piece of wax paper.  Then I placed a kitchen towel on top and ironed it.  The goal is to melt all the crayon chunks.

For the frame, I cut one piece of construction paper in half, then put one half on one side, and the other half on the other side.  Then I got a second piece of construction paper to do the other two sides.  Then I stapled the frame in each of the corners.

This is my picture up in our kitchen window.

This is Dd's project.  She asked me to make her frame narrower.  So, I made all four sides with only one piece of paper.  We had a lot of fun making these fall "stained glass" window decorations
