Boiling red cabbage leaves |

Filling up a balloon with baking soda |
Filling the old bottle we found in the woods with vinegar |
So lucky we had a 1/2 a head of red cabbage in our refrigerator! Or we would have had to stop and run to the store! |
Pouring the cabbage juice in with the vinegar |
Here is the first CHEMICAL REACTION--the blue water turned pink when combining the vinegar with cabbage water. |
You will need baking soda, a balloon, a funnel, red cabbage, vinegar, a bottle, and a stove |
Here Dd is putting the balloon onto the top of the bottle--remember inside the bottle is the vinegar and cabbage water, and inside the balloon is baking soda! |
Can you see the white foam forming in the bottle? |
The balloon is starting to inflate due to the CHEMICAL REACTION of the ingredients mixing together. |
My Dd was afraid the balloon would pop, but it didn't! |

We are using the Notebook that goes along with the text. |
