Read Aloud-- Beware!  This book (recommended by Steve Padewia-IEW-) needed LOTS of on the fly editing.  I don't recommend this book unless you are very prepared to edit--I did get the point that Steve was trying to make-about finding creative and fun words to replace boring words--good point; tough book: Politically Correct Bedtime Stories by James Finn Garner.

5 new jars of low sugar blueberry jam
Activities--Tuesday we went to the Brownsburg "Lunch Bunch" with some friends.  Then after we went to Arbuckle Park and played in the stream--lots of fun.

We had a nice bike ride too.  Thursday was the 4H- Orienteering/ Geo-Caching at Hummel Park--lots of fun and we learned how to use a compass and bought one for us to use too.

Failure experiment--shaving cream and food coloring

We tried this word of mouth experiment - and somehow did it wrong:

4 simple ingredients-jar, dye, shaving cream, and time.

Maybe we put too much shaving cream on top of the jar?!

The blue was suppose to turn the foam (shaving cream) blue and drip down like RAIN---nope; it didn't happen.  This picture was 40 minutes after waiting---and it didn't change.

seeds in a glove experiment

Remember a few weeks ago we went to the Children's Museum and did a science experiment--we put 4 different seeds into a clear glove with a cotton ball and some water.  Here are the recent pictures from this week.  We took Dd's seeds out a week ago and planted them in this planter.  Today we planted my seeds into the same planter.  It was cool watching the roots grow - I could see through the clear plastic; but decided it was time to plant the plants as they were outgrowing the glove.

May 2, 2012 we made the seed gloves

June 3rd, 2012- our seed gloves are outgrowing the gloves
