Chickens Day 35
The chickens are doing very well. It has been cold here--20 degrees as I write this. I added a bunch of wood shavings, almost a whole bag, to the floor in their chicken tractor, to help keep them warm.
This week I added grit--little rocks--to help the chicks with their digestion. I don't know if I was suppose to add it yet or not! We also added a new watering bucket (see picture at the bottom of the post). I have to clean and exchange their watering Ball jars a few times a day, so I bought the professional kind that won't let any wood shavings in it. I plan on making a PVC watering system soon.
Check our these wings! |
This is one of the smallest Buff Orpington's, probably a male, but he was the easiest to catch! |
I plan on making a duplicate chicken tractor asap. With it being so cold it is probably good that they are all together, but once it warms up they will need to spread out more.
