Catapult Class

Catapult Class

The purpose of these pictures is to inspire anyone to build their own catapult out of whatever materials they have at their home.  One student in our class, went home and bought dowel rods, and built the marshmallow catapult out of that--much bigger than our skewer model, and she used those HUGE marshmallows they now sell as ammo!  and for a spoon, she used a big, plastic, kitchen serving spoon.  I tried to put in pictures that showed you good angles of the catapults, so you could reproduce it.

For our final class we tried to use our catapults to take down the cardboard castle (above, on the left side of the picture) the students built last week.  This time the students used catapults that our teacher and her family had already made at home.  These are the same catapults that Dd used last class to the same thing during her last class.  They used small bean bags, rubber balls, and plastic play pieces as ammo.

( I just had to put this photo of Smedley in here...what an expression he has! )
