Church Problems, Migraines, Painting Fence, Poppies and Peonies

Hello, Friends!

For my blog and memory-keeping of our family, it is important to bookmark this week as the week that things went sideways at the church we've been going to for almost four years.

Strings Performance: Evening Service
Dd, me, and the Strings Group performed a few songs for the church.  Dd was on her guitar and I was on a borrowed Autoharp.

Annual Used Book Sale at Homeschool Building:
So pleased I was able to find all but one book for Dd's classes next year!!!  Fortunately, Amazon had a used copy of the last book I needed and I bought that to wrap up my shopping for next year.

Dinner Date:
How often have I typed "Dinner Date?"  Since I was just a few minutes away from Dh's work, and it was after 5pm, when I finished up my book shopping at the Homeschool Building, Dh met me and we went to a Chinese Buffet for dinner together.  It was really nice to have a 1:1 date with my husband!

Dd Babysitting:
Dd has been thoroughly enjoying getting to babysit for a young family in our church.  After babysitting on Monday, Hailee came over and spent the night.

Migraine Doctor:
I finally met with the migraine specialist.  I had canceled an appointment with her a few months ago because I wanted to see how the Botox shots were going to work.  March held 14/31 days with a migraine while April held 11/30.  So, I shared all my numbers with her and she decided I should try another round of Botox in July and meet up with her again in August to discuss.  She was very easy to talk with and I liked her.  She said I could call her during any long 'cluster migraine' weeks and she has a few things to stop those from dragging on.

Worship Meeting:
Wednesday night Dd and I went to the meeting.  Followed up by sleepless nights which lead to my succession of migraines.  Lots of stress and emotion.

Migraines:
Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week.  All the stress really exasperated the problem.

Fence:
Painting Began Saturday (on the last day of the week)!!!
After two long weeks of using the Power Sprayer to clean off the old paint from the fence, it was finally time to begin painting!!!  Dh got out our 'sprayer' but I found it too slow and thin for my liking.  Dh did the sprayer for a while and I used an old fashioned paint brush.  It was nice to finally move forward and see progress, even if we only got four panels done for the week at least we got started.  Hoping next week I'll feel better and be able to make headway.

Trying to not hurt these roses or any flowers as we paint.

Garden:
Watering the new grass seed 1-2 x per day.  It is really growing fast now!  All our beds are really growing fast.  It is great finally getting to eat our lettuce and spinach!
Dd hung the strings in the garden for the green beans to climb when they get big enough.

Flower Gardens:

POPPIES!!!!

These 2-3 weeks of poppies and peonies are my favorite weeks of growing things!

So very beautiful.

Happy!

Dh's Armoire:
Dh continues to make the inside shelves for the armoire I found at a thrift store.

These two boxes fit in the bottom two holes, then the picture on above shows the shelves that will fit in the main section

Crochet Blanket:

I continue to work on the blanket I started crocheting when Dd and I were visiting the "L" family a few months ago.

Close-Up

See the thickness?  It's nice and heavy too!

Pool:
Dd started filling up the pool this week---we are getting close to officially opening it.

The Allium aren't purple any more...bummer!
