Last Visit
Oct. 10-11th, 2015

We went down to Indiana really early on Saturday, we usually leave on Friday nights, but Dd had a "Girls Club/Bonfire party" on Friday night that kept us out late.  It was such a sad, sad feeling, saying goodbye to the home that held so many of my favorite memories.  I'm not sure which one of us took it the hardest.

A view of the flying geese in Indiana, from our back yard.

We got to see our neighbor -slash-realtor, Gwen on Saturday.  I had made her a batch of Ranger Cookies, and a card to thank her for doing such a great job getting our house sold.  She was our THIRD realtor!  We had two other realtors that were super fancy and well established, and they couldn't do what she could!  And we are her first house to sell!  So thankful for her!

I planned on taking lots of pictures, but the house felt too empty for me to take pictures---luckily Dd took a few.

Our last sunrise in our Indiana home

Giz and Grampy came up fairly early, so we could all go out to eat for lunch.  It was really nice of them to drive 2 hours to eat lunch with us and then drive 2 hours back home.  They certainly are very kind!

We did get to have a visit with our dear friends, the "L" family.  Dd got to play for a few hours before I came over for to share a cup of tea with Heather.  Dd had a blast, as always!  That is one of the best things about having a homeschooled child; the fact that they just love playing with all ages!  It wouldn't occur to her that not everyone wants to play with kids that aren't her same age.  She just loves all ages of kids, to play with.  I think they managed a game of Capture the Flag on Saturday, among other things.

The past 2-3 weeks has been so full of migrating birds!  These birds remind me of how in Michigan we've had so many flocks of birds flying around in massive quantities--it is just like looking at a school of fish, with thousands of creatures all turning at the same time and making beautiful wave-like motions as they coordinate their flight.  I've seen a lot more of these massive flocks flying together in Michigan than I ever saw in Indiana.  Also, the Monarch Butterflies are very abundant in Michigan, yet I'm not sure if I ever saw one in Indiana.

Dd took one last picture of her old bedroom.  I'm pretty sure she will never have such a big bedroom again!  I'm so glad she hasn't fussed at her smaller accommodations!

Dd took some pictures while up in her play house.

You can see how much landscaping we did compared to our neighbors!  We planted LOTS of trees, bushes, and flowers.

This Friday is suppose to be our "CLOSING", but we won't be there, as I have that event to do for our new co-op and couldn't cancel it.  Then we should be totally done with this chapter of our life.  We first put this house on the market in July 2014.  July, Aug, Sept, Oct, switch realtors--had to repaint the house to make new realtor happy, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, somewhere in here we switched to Gwen, May, June, July, Aug (got the bids), Sept, Oct...Sixteen months of being on the market!  Wow.  What a big chapter to end.

  1. A bitter/sweet event that your loved home has sold, and that chapter of your life is closing.
May the lovely memories you have of living there and the friends you've made be the blessings that you get to focus on (hug)
    Your Dd's bedroom was huge!
So thankful that prayer was finally answered with a yes, and that your realtor brought about a sale for you. (Feeling for your sad hearts though.)

  2. The sale doesn't happen officially until Friday, and I keep praying for it to all happen without any hitches!! We have to get a "notary" to watch us sign some of the paperwork, then Dh has to mail it super quick/over-night mail to get to the title company...details, details...I will definitely put up an official "it has sold" post. This was our last time to be IN the house before it is suppose to sell. And, I really do hope that everything happens so it can be SOLD, even though it is sad! But, financially it was such a gigantic financial burden! you can imagine! Plus, so many weekends taken up by having to drive down and clean/mow...now we can use our free time to finish the many projects we need to finish here! That will be so nice, to focus on just one home! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a message! I sure do miss more free time so I can chat with you more!!! Sending you a big hug!!! Much love, Tracy

  4. What a beautiful post about the Indy house. I am so glad this chapter is almost over and you are all starting a brand new adventure. If this was a book, I wonder what we would call the 16months of waiting? I am sure there is something clever in there somewhere...
