Busy Hands

Nov. 3-7, 2014

Christmas gifts are being made!  We realized this week that a Christmas tree will never fit in our tiny apartment...not sure how we are going to do this here!

I'm making two 'baby", "Lovey" blankets; one is knitted (and left in Indiana for now) and this is the second one and is crocheted.  This crocheted one I have worked on all this week.

This is a scarf, Dd made, for a niece (Norah)---to match with the red poncho her aunt is going to get for Christmas.

This headband is for Norah's new baby sister, Charlotte.  Made by Dd.

Dd is making an infinity scarf for herself.  All our scarves (and most of our winter clothing) are inside a storage box, so we need to make ourselves some replacements to get us through the winter.

This is the red poncho that Dd is making for Aunt April.

This is the blanket I am crocheting for Dd, for Christmas.  She picked black since I wouldn't let her pick neon colors!  I don't think the picture is doing a good job of showing just how big it is getting!  I just bought three more skeins on Tuesday to add to it.

This is how big/thick it is so far.

A close-up of the crochet stitching.

A clay necklace Dd is making, this is step one.   She has put engraved designs on some of the pieces...something to do with the Percy Jackson series.

This is after the pieces have dried a while-step two...many to follow.

 Cordial:
Dd made a 'cordial'; like Lucy's from Narnia, to attach to a belt, she found the right bottle and made a holster for it out of chop-sticks, and hot glue gun glue.  She worked for days on it.

The finished project; now it just needs to be worn around her hip!  I bet she makes a belt for it.

Dd made an asparagus & carrot dish
