SL Week 22 "A" April 7-12, 2014

SL Week 22 "A"
April 7-12, 2014

This was a different week, for sure!  We had invited our friends; the "L" family over to celebrate Dd's 12th b-day, and we had a lot of tidying up and shopping to do before they arrived.  I *planned* on getting some lessons done, as well as doing the party prep...but, that didn't do very well!  But, we had a great week--and Dd got the week off math; so she was also supremely happy!

We went to the library twice.  We went to three different grocery stores; one of those twice!  Dd had SWIM & GYM on Tuesday.  Thursday was the "L" party.  Friday was our field trip, with our "large homeschool" group (HBHE) to "SKYZONE" (indoor trampoline place).  Friday night Giz and Grampy came over to celebrate.  They took us out to eat too!  Saturday we had eye appointments! fun! fun! (Pictures on the blog, after this post.)

Busy Hands this week:
She made the 5 gifts for the "L" family--completed.  She made herself a ipod case, like the one she made "R".  And she has been working for a week on a green, cotton crochet hat.

Audio's:
completed both!

The House of Hades (Heroes of Olympus, Book 4) by Rick Riordan (Oct 8, 2013) - Unabridged (completed)

The Mistmantle Chronicles, Book One: The Urchin of the Riding Stars by M.I. McAllister

(completed)

I really enjoyed this audio; but think I would have liked even more if I had read it myself.  Dd is auditory, and listening to books is fine for her as she catches every detail, but I would have done better with reading the book.  Regardless, this was just a high excitement, sitting on the edge of your chair, what is going to happen next--type of book!  So hard to stop at each break and wait for our next installment!!!!  The animal characters were terrific--the descriptions were amazing too!  We really enjoyed this greatly...if only the bad guy wasn't so bad!  He really was very despicable--VERY! and I was outraged at his ugly, evil behavior to the animals of Mistmantle.  So glad when he was finally outed for being the criminal that he was!  He had so many fooled for so long!  Anyway, my previous week's blog post has a better review of the book, if you are interested.
