Week 33
We had a great week---Giz and Grampy came up to visit so we could take Grampy with us to the Indiana State Fair again with us. Giz hasn't been doing so great with walking; so she can't go and will stay home and babysit our dog and her dog.
Chelle--didn't you ask what an Elephant Ear was? Elephant ears are white dough that is pulled in a oval, kind of a wobbly pizza shape, 5-6 inches perimeter, and then deep fried, and then topped with some sugar and cinnamon---and then you eat it! Yummy! Once a year though! It must be 2,000 calories! I wish I would have taken a picture to show you!
The Giving Tree-food pantry
Thursday night, Dd asked one of her friends to work with us at our church's food pantry--The Giving Tree---we had such an amazing woman come. She really needed help, and I was so glad we were there to help. It was so great to be God's hands and offer help to someone at the right time and the right place and let her know how much God loves her---just when she really needed to hear it the most....I was so blessed to be of use. I'm glad Dd was there to be apart of that.

Artist of the Week
So impossible to go over any artist in one week; but to breeze through Leonardo in one week was particularly difficult. I brought out about 10 different books we own on him and looked at different things and discussed various aspects about him. The point is just to plant some baby seeds at this stage of the game; but it was really hard to go into this week knowing we were just going to do a quick peek at such a Master.

Thanks for detailing what an elephants ear is (sounds delicious and decadent!)
ReplyDeleteThe Giving Tree encounter - sobering and touching!
I've enjoyed reading through your week here - I miss reading all the ins and outs of what you're doing.
I'll have to get a new online reader - since google 'closed' that down.
