There was Fort Quiatenon that was a trading post between the Indians and the French back in the 1700's. Each year in Lafayette, Indiana they hold a "Feast of the Hunter's Moon" to celebrate the past traditions. The same indian tribe still own part of the property and take a big part of this event. The fort is still standing; and many things have been dug up on the property that are interesting to us today.
