Henry Surveying the Situation

I haven't shared any pictures of the woods lately and wanted to show how much it has changed after all the snowy pictures I posted over the fall, winter, and spring.

About 1 1/2 weeks ago I was mowing our path and stirred up a baby fawn.  I decided the caring thing to do was to leave the trail alone for a little while for the fawn to find a new bed.

Unfortunately, Dh and I were so surprised to hear a baby fawn bleating as it was being chased by Henry.  We called and he came back to us, although he did give the fawn a bit of a run first.

Henry won't be going on any wood walks for a while, unless he is on a leash!

The woods is so very crowded and different than it was all winter.

It is nice to see all the green!!

The Sassafrass trees are so beautiful to me, but Dh only see's them as 'scrub' trees.  The waving trunks are such beauty.

You can barely see the wood paths I made with all this ground cover.

Part of our property is a massive Spruce replanting.  Those straight trunks seem so strong.

I love seeing how the sun beams down and highlights special branches as I walk.
