Apologia Exploring Creation With Physical Science

 Module 1 Experiment 1.3

 1.  1 cup of water and 1 cup of vinegar

2.  1/2 cups of water and 1 1/2 cups of vinegar

3.  1/4 cup vinegar and 1 3/4 cups of vinegar

4. 1 cup of vinegar

5.  1/2 cup of vinegar

6. 1/4 cup of vinegar

Watching the TUMS dissolve in the glasses and noticing how fast or how slowly the antacids are dissolving.

The glasses that had all the water in them definitely didn't dissolve the antacids very quickly...at all!  But, the glasses with only vinegar, and no water, dissolved very quickly.

This was a easy experiment, focusing on "Concentration."  We learned how chemicals can change how they behave depending on how much of a concentration of the different ingredients are combined.
