What Does Soap Do To Water? Part 1
**Surface Tension**
First step to any good experiment....find the kitty! Good, now we can begin! |
First get all the ingredients.... |
Large bowl, water, and ground a bunch of pepper in the water. Some big pieces fell to the bottom, and the rest covered the surface of the water. |
Putting the empty tweezers in the water is our "CONTROL" for this experiment. Dd put tweezers in the water...no reaction (as we figured). |
We put a wad of tissue and used the tweezers to dip the tissue into the pepper water...no reaction, no movement. |
The instructions told us to add more pepper...we did. |
Dipping in a wad of chewing gum...no reaction. |
Dipping in soap.... |
The pepper immediately skirted to the far sides of the bowl! It was a very quick response. |
We tried another type of soap for the fun of it, but the pepper was already off to the side. |
Agnes! |
........
Good for you guys doing all these experiments!!!!!
