Monday we went on a field trip to the Fredrick Meijer Sculpture Garden to see their Christmas displays. The first stop was their Christmas trees from many countries around the world--with the decorations representing those countries. Below is Greece, they had a plaque to describe the tree, and then next to the plaque was their tree. It was impossible to pick a favorite!!

Ukraine had spider webs on it? Interesting. |
Then we went into the big Tropical conservatory, and they had Christmas decorations and lights there too!
One of our favorite rooms is the "Plants with an Appetite". It smells kinda funny; in a cool way.
Then we went into the Railway Garden. There were train cars rushing around above and in the little sections throughout the display. All the buildings were made of natural resources. I'm afraid our pictures do not do justice to this cool exhibit.
This is a model of the Meijer Sculpture Garden conservatory buildings. |
We walked around to the outside sculptures too---here is the Leonardo DaVinci horse replica. |

Wow!!! I think I would have LOVED that tour!!!! Love the idea of the different Christmas trees! And the rail garden!
