Dd rec'd this shirt for Christmas, but the print has been coming off- so Dd has been working on it this week and besides adding the black ink she added glow-in-the-dark around the Pegasus. |
Our week:
Monday we got ready for our trip this week.
Tuesday we drove to Indiana, and I mowed the yard.
Wednesday we went to the CANDLES museum, and listened to the lecture Eva Kor gave for 2 hours.
Thursday we met the "L" family at 9am for a hike at Eagle Creek Park, then Dd and I went shopping. We went to Joanne Fabrics and picked out the fabric for her "spring" cloak that she is wanting Giz to make her. I took Dd out for a special lunch.
Friday Dd was invited to spend the whole day playing at the "L" family's house! I was invited over for dinner--which was fantastic!
Saturday morning Giz and Grampy drove up from southern Indiana to help us fill up a 26' UHAUL truck. What a day! Oh my! I mowed the yard again---to use up the gasoline in the mower so we could pack it (we have two mowers and didn't need to keep both there). By the end of the night we were able to fill up the whole truck!
Sunday morning Giz got super, super sick and our plans for her and Grampy coming with us to unload our boxes in Michigan, in a storage place, was not an option any longer. Poor Giz was so nauseous and sick that they stayed at our house and we hit the road. They were able to drive back to their home and get her to bed. Meanwhile our "5 hour drive" took over 7 hours!
Driving one of those huge UHAUL trucks wasn't easy at all--and we passed TWO cars in all those hours! We left at 9:30 AM, and arrived at the storage place at 4:30 PM, and finished unpacking at 9:30 PM! What a super long day!!!
At Eagle Creek Park...doesn't it look perfect! So green! |
The kids always hang up their cloaks on sticks and then surprise ambush us. |
Mowing & Our Yard:
The purple Iris are blooming and looking so nice. We brought them up from the farm in southern Indiana---along with some of the Hosta's in this picture. |
Up against the brown fence are our lovely FERNS that I brought up from the farm in southern Indiana...I only had a few, but they have really grown and spread. |
This picture shows the blooming Lilac's under the left window, there are two matching Lilac's under the right window, but they are younger and now blooming this year. |
All three of the purple Salvia made it through the winter, one bush is blooming right now, and the other two are coming in a little later..but look like they will try to catch up soon. |
Dd and Dh had a great time playing basketball together---we don't have a place to play ball at our apartment. |
Here is Eva Kor! It seemed rude to take pictures during her presentation, so I waited until she dismissed us and quickly took this photo...I *hoped* it was going to be a good photo, but it is blurry. |
The room was packed during her lecture! |
Pictures from the exhibit:
Here are a few "L" family members looking at the exhibit. |
.........
What an eventful week!
