Sonlight Core G
Week 6 "A" (LOW)
Nov. 24-30, 2014
We had a very nice, short week regarding our lessons. Wednesday, Pappa's parents arrived for their first real visit with us in Michigan. Pappa found them a hotel to spend two nights, fairly close to us. Dd and I did lessons Monday through Wednesday. Monday's are never highly productive for us, but we did the best we could considering Dd's suffers from "Monday-itis"! That is my name for the syndrome of 'blah' that happens just about every Monday with Dd! It is so dependable and reliable each Monday! It is a good thing that I know what to expect each Monday and never plan for that day to be very academic!
I had TWO doctor appointments this week, and believe I have been blessed with finding a new doctor for us. She seemed really smart, informed, and let me talk about my problems...and she had an idea of new medicine to try for my migraines! She also prefaced it with saying that many insurance companies won't agree to allow it, so we will have to wait and see if it will be an option for me, or not. Don't you love how our insurance company's get to decide which medications we can or can't take---not our doctors! I really have such strong feelings about this subject, but my feelings are probably not something you want to hear! But, I've been suffering SO much after having to give up another medication that was working SO well for me, b/c my insurance wouldn't allow it either. Moving on now...
We are getting into a habit of taking snow hikes each day; though Dd skipped Saturday and Sunday! But, I am very happy to find an outlet for me to be outside, surrounded by trees. Plus, there is a wonderful CRANE that lives right where we walk, and it has flown away from us twice this week. We really get a great look at it when it is flying away. In Indiana, we always had cranes on the little reserve pond right beside our house, and would get to watch them all the time. It is great having a crane here too! I just love those big birds!!!
Wednesday night, Dd wanted to dissect the deer heart that Pappa had brought back for her. So, Giz got right in the kitchen with her (and me, too) to help and watch. I put a post below this post with pictures.
We have been busy beavers, working on our Christmas presents! I will do a post in a day or two with pictures of our progress. I finished the gift for my mom, and the two stuffed animal chipmunks for my two nephews, and started on a scarf for my MIL, "Giz", and bought the yard for the Camo Blanket that Pappa asked for, for his Christmas gift.

Our lessons:
Veritas Chronicles through Malachi Enhanced SET--Enhanced CD and Cards (Bible)
Bible:
We are using Veritas Press's bible program, and enjoy it SO much. It really is a jumping off place for us. It gives assignments, and suggests we use a Children's Bible; but we use our own bible, plus I've added in a bible commentary that I've found VERY informative. Plus, we add in other resources too; but VP schedules it out for us, and we can add lots more to it than they plan (sort of like how we do Sonlight).

Wow! The insurance companies here don't have that much 'power'.... yet! Hoping they never do.
