Garden Pictures and some insects from around the yard/garden this week!

Rescue Mission:
We get these Hook Caterpillars on our tomato plants; which turn into Spinx Moth's --which are beautiful.  But, they always get covered with wasp nest/eggs--so, I've been pulling off the white egg/nests and trying to rescue the caterpillars this year.  I don't know if that will save the caterpillars or not; but I am trying.

Here is a handful of the wasp egg cases.

Here is the Hook Caterpillar FREE from all those pesky wasp eggs all over it!!!  I hope it will live---but, hate that it is eating my tomatoes!!! Oh well, I planted lots of plants!

A
A view from our neighbors yard to see our whole garden...kind of.  It is funny b/c our neighbors on this side don't even have a plant or tree and then we have this jungle!

This is a Praying Mantis from our front yard--I took a lot of pictures with my awful camera and believe it or not; this was the best picture out of the lot!!!

some gourds and sunflowers

-some tomotoes

This sunflower was/is HUGE! The brown bin behind it is our compost bin---I found a small nest of baby mice in it this week.  Hubby was not happy about that and wants to clean out the compost!

Just thought you all might be interested how those pretty leek plants were doing now---here are a few pictures of them!

This was the new section we planted 2-3 weeks ago.  We planted a new section on Saturday--it is great Indiana has such a nice fall season and we can still plant things in August.

I've given away many zucchini, and bags of tomatoes!!!  Here is just a small sampling.

Dd put her hand up to show the size/scale of the tomato!
