Class 2 of Nature in Art
We discussed, and drew from tree inspired items. One student brought in a sunflower, and my Dd brought in some oak leaves with some acorns attached to it. Our first class was on Insects and I brought in a large glass jar of caterpillars, and some 'trays' of dead insects that I've preserved nicely over the years of many varieties of insects. I will try to do a post on the trays for that class later.
Here are a few pictures I took of the specimens I prepared the night before to take in to the class. I had about 5 tables set up, with 4-7 different trays full of different nature things available for them to draw, touch, see, smell, etc. I also brought in 2 different praying mantis's and they stole the show at one point (deciding during my lecture was a perfect time to eat off a grasshoppers head!)

After growing up going to FDL, I decided to name my homeschool (like my daughter) after the place I learned the most from. Sharing what books we've added into each SL core, by Core and Week. I'm also sharing our events with family and friends who check in on us here. If nothing else, I'm keeping a great, though epic, transcript of my Dd's education! May the good Lord bless and keep each of you, whether near or far away!
