Doesn't she just look so confident and healthy? I think the illness was a blessing from God. We were reading today from another "Lamplighter" book that made me think of her illness in a positive way. The book is called "Narrow Escape" by Christoph Von Schmid. The main character - Theresa's children get scarlet fever. Theresa and her husband work around the clock to care and nurture the sick children; and they all recover. The children realize for the first time how very much their parents love and adore them; and truly comprehend their blessings. The children have such a major 'awakening' from their illness that they show their appreciation to their parents through their better behavior. It was a really nice chapter; not that I expect that much of a transformation from my Dd!! But, I think she did really see how much we love her through our care for her.

I hate choosing which book is better; but I really felt more engaged by Narrow Escape. It is such a good book. I think the story is great; and the story-telling is good.
