SL Core D Week 23 (week 46 of this core) Nov. 13-20 th 2011

We are reading The Story of Eli Whitney still.  This week I hope to get a few Artistic Pursuits projects done.  Monday we did 2 projects:

A deer made for Pappa-while he is hunting deer on the farm.

We fit in some microscope time today too:

OUR LESSONS THIS WEEK:
I often don't mention that we do watch Brain Pop every day and Brain Pop Jr. every Monday.  We also often listen to audio recordings at Lamplighter.com --go to Listen and then pick from the newest listings to get to hear an awesome audio story; or at least a portion of it.

This week was fairly normal--Math U See (lessons from Gamma, 23).  We worked on memorizing the 7 Family and Skip-Counting Songs for the 7's.
We did Artistic Pursuits (pictures are above)
We continued reading "The Story of Eli Whitney" and finished it.
We have been enjoying "English From The Roots Up" and are studying the first 10 Greek works in the book.
We worked on All About Spelling-Tested Step 7, studied and tested Step 8.  We are reviewing lessons from AAS book ONE-this week we reviewed Step 16.
Writing With Ease-Week 11.
First Language Lessons - Lesson 15.
Turbo Math-hand-held math game.
"Typing Instructor"-typing program 50 minutes.
We had "Aqua Athlete's" on Tuesday-gym and swim instructions.

DVD: Liberty Kids--American Revolution (great!)
Another "Add-In" this week is:
Farmer George Plants a Nation by Peggy Thomas and Layne Johnson

This week Dd is reading a "Add-In" called: The Fighting Ground by AVI.  She stopped liking it 1/2 way into it; so I decided to make the rest of it a "Read Aloud" and then she was back to liking it!!!!
The Fighting Ground 25th Anniversary Edition by Avi

Then we went to the farm for the weekend:

Overlooking part of the fields
