Kirk Park, MI July 20, 2014

Kirk Park, MI  July 20, 2014

We found the same park we visited when we were checking out this area back in Sept.  It only had one woman last Sept., today there were a good amount of people...but still not totally crowded.  This is Dd's favorite park so far!  The best part is that the beach has a designated DOG (off-leach) section.

Before hitting the beach, we had our picnic!

This picture is for Heather "L"--this is the dish you told me how to make with zucchini and squash, lemon, and Paul Newman's Italian dressing.  It was great!

Sophie (dog) and Dd had a blast!

Here is a look at what the DOG BEACH looked like!  Our dog, Sophie got to play with other dogs.  She ended up getting so tired, she and Dh went to the "Sun Tent" we had put up and laying down for hours.  Pitiful dog was totally exhausted! See the last picture of her in our van to see just how tired she was!

 Charge!

I was absolutely the only person with sunblock clothing on!  I am glad I have a good sense of humor, b/c I stuck out like a sore thumb!!!!  The majority of women had itty-bitty bathers on!  Even though I put sunblock on the little part of my neck and upper-chest, I still got a little red there!  But, I really tried not to get burnt!  Next time I am going to wear my bather, so I can swim with Dd.  I wrongly thought the water would be too cold!

Here is a view as we walked up the dune to leave, looking back.

There are trails you can hike at this park too.  From the parking lot to the beach is about .24 miles, that is just a very lovely walk.  It really is a beautiful park regardless of the beach.

Here is our dog after a day at the beach!
